The Iraqi Observatory for Human Rights, in cooperation with the team of the (Bahoush) platform and Asper Center team for fact-checkers, trained 27 journalists, activists, and university students to check information before and after publication.
The workshop was held in Baghdad on June 11-12, 2023, and was trained by Saja Murtada, Director of the Arab Network of Information Verifiers of the (ARIJ) Network for Investigative Journalism.
The trainees received training on the concept and types of information disorder, pre-publication information checking methodology, post-publication information checking methodology and tools, in addition to artificial intelligence and information checking.
This is the second workshop held by the Iraqi Observatory for Human Rights during the past 12 months, on mechanisms to fight misinformation and check information before and after publication.
The Iraqi Observatory for Human Rights seeks, through these workshops, to develop the capacities of journalists, activists, bloggers and university students in helping society reach the truth and fight disinformation.
